Kara began her career with Alverson, Taylor, Mortensen & Sanders in Las Vegas, Nevada. While in Las Vegas Kara practiced insurance defense, products liability, and transportation defense. She has been with Fillmore Spencer since June 2011 where she practices personal injury, civil litigation, and criminal defense. She also handles transactional matters for the firm and has successfully argued in front of the Utah Court of Appeals.
